METEOROLOGIST/WEATHER ANCHOR (Regular full time / Orlando, FL)

You’ll be working in a place that basks in sunshine, until it becomes the lightning capital of the world and that’s all before Hurricane season starts. But you’re not stuck in a studio all the time — -you’re on location forecasting from one of the most high-tech storm chasers in the state. This position is part weekend weather anchor, part weekday weather chaser. You must have a strong, engaging live presence in studio and in the field.
REQUIREMENTS: A minimum of 5 years’ experience working as a weather anchor in a medium or large market preferred. College degree in communications/journalism or related field preferred. Current or in process AMS Seal or NWS certification. Hurricane forecasting experience a plus. Working knowledge of weather and newsroom computers. Ability to ad-lib effectively with news anchors.

VP SALES: (Regular full time/Orlando, FL)
FOX 35 Orlando is looking for a dynamic VP/Director of Sales to lead our WOFL/WRBW and WOGX broadcast, digital and OTT sales teams. The successful candidate will develop a strategy for success on every platform and coach our teams to reach revenue goals. The primary purpose and function is to oversee the station’s broadcast and digital sales, traffic and research efforts by performing the following duties:
- Maximize delivery of ad revenue budgets and share for Orlando and Gainesville markets.
- Hire, supervise, evaluate and train department personnel
- Develop fiscal year revenue and expense budgets that are reflective of station plans.
- Analyze and control expenditures of department to conform to budgetary and company requirements
- Package, price and control station inventory to ensure ad share and revenue budgets are delivered and/or
exceeded as planned
- Prepare monthly/quarterly sales reports
- Develop strategy for WOFL/WRBW/WOGX sales department’s business plan and business practices
- Stay current with market place conditions, competitive changes and tactically adjust sales plans where
- Develop and maintain client relationships as well as agency decision maker relationships to maximize
- Propose adjustments to Local Sales commission plan as necessary
- Oversee traffic department and commercial scheduling to maximize revenue and to provide the best viewer

BROADCAST MAINTENANCE ENGINEER (Regular full time/ Orlando, FL)
The Broadcast Maintenance Engineer is expected to repair and perform daily preventative maintenance of all equipment associated with three 24/7 television stations. For example; master control and production automation systems, camera robotics, character generators, playback servers, transmitters, satellite distribution systems, desktop computers, networking equipment and various facility needs as assigned. Engineer will assist in system design, construction and commissioning of new technologies at multiple station sites. Previous experience within a television station repairing and maintaining broadcast equipment and IT related components. Ability to communicate effectively with management, vendors and co-workers, work efficiently and meet deadlines.
REQUIREMENTS: Bachelors or Associate degree in IT systems, electronics or an equivalent amount of technical training is preferred. Must be able to work independently and as a member of a team. Ability to sit and stand for extended periods of time. Must be flexible with schedule and willing to work weekends, holidays and occasional overnight shifts. Ability to lift 50lbs. PRODUCTION TECHNICIAN: (Regular full time /Orlando, FL)
We are looking for a part-time Production Tech with working knowledge of AM, PM News and other show formats. Ensure that talent and guests microphones have charged batteries, that microphones are on proper frequency, turned on properly and have corresponding IFB’s (when applicable). Conduct proper studio microphone and live-remote audio checks prior to air and inform director immediately if any source is not suitable for air. Ensure talent is on the set, miked and informed of the cues in use. Prior to air, verify that all studio equipment is working properly. QC audio levels and mix using QC monitor in audio booth. Ensure all RTS panels are labeled correctly with proper studio or remote talent prior to live or taped broadcasts. Update music request playlists on a daily basis with music requested from executive producers. Know camera-blocking positions for newscasts. Ensure camera shots are in focus and framed according to camera directives from Director. Create creative bump shots along with standard formatted shots. Be familiar with Sony ELC coding and show execution to fill in as needed. Make minor repairs to IFB’s, microphones, monitors and audio board as needed. Operate prompter when talent is unable to do so as assigned. Understand basics of lighting panel. Maintain audio booth, prop room, cameras and prompters. Interact effectively and professionally with talent, producers and crew.
REQUIREMENTS: A minimum of one-year experience in the master control and news production environment. College degree or two years’ equivalent experience in the broadcast industry. Ability to operate a broad range of production equipment. Manage daily broadcast operations for three full power television stations, WOFL/WRBW/WOGX. Oversee a dynamic operational crew that performs a broad range of tasks, including directing live newscasts, master control, and other technical operations assignments. Assist with engineering department long range planning, annual reporting, and purchase process needs.
REQUIREMENTS: Minimum 2 years of experience working in a role related to live news production, master control, and/or engineering at a 24/7 broadcast television station. Previous management experience a plus. College degree in communications, television, or other area of study with relevant work experience preferred. Hands on experience with master control and/or production automation systems. Proficient in the use of Microsoft operating systems and business applications, specifically Word and Excel.
