First Coast News in Jacksonville has an opportunity with room for growth and professional development as a Sales Assistant/Copy Coordinator. This position requires a strong work ethic with attention to detail serving the station’s advertisers and internal sales team.
Providing support for Sales Management and Account Executives including order entry for national and local sales for linear broadcast, OTT (“Over-the-Top”) Premion and digital campaigns on a daily basis.
Interact daily with local/national agencies and local accounts with specific responsibilities around copy and traffic.
Manage order revisions and preemptions, and missing copy instructions for assigned advertiser and communicate with the sales department regarding the status of any issues.
Assigning commercial copy to our advertiser schedules to ensure proper placement of spots based on agency and direct customer instructions.
Ensure copy assigned to advertiser schedules runs correctly based on agency and direct customer instructions.
Maintain an open line of communication with master control operators, account executives, sales management, traffic operations and commercial production so all can achieve shared goals and success.
Compile daily dub list of all new spots; identify distribution source, quality control for audio, title-safe and duration. Verify all materials have been ingested into the server in master control, prior to their scheduled airtime. Identify and re-transfer failed spots.
Work closely with our Traffic Commercial Operations unit in Denver to make sure local program changes are made.
Ensure the correct creatives are attached to linear broadcast and digital orders, including OTT Premion campaigns.

College degree preferred
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Word, PowerPoint and Excel
1-3 years of broadcast traffic experience preferred
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in a fast paced environment
Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
Must be flexible with ability to change direction, prioritizing between several different tasks at once
People skills are a must
