WWSB-TV in sunny Sarasota, FL is looking for a Network Administrator for our local broadcast facility.
Duties of this position can be broad, but will include effectively implementing and supporting key hardware and software technologies related to our IT infrastructure including Windows Server 2008, 2012 and 2016, as well as all desktop operating platforms, VMWare and Active Directory in a networked environment. Email administration and phone system support are also key responsibilities. This position also backs the Broadcast Engineering department with troubleshooting Broadcast equipment. Other tasks will include installing new workstations and other devices, adding and removing users and setting up new employee’s pcs, phones, log in credentials, etc. Overall troubleshooting of aging systems and as the need arises, coordination of outside vendor relations and support. This position requires that you act proactively to prevent critical system issues, as well as keeping up with new technology, pertaining to IT. You must also install hardware and software including researching most effective products and solutions for our business needs. Finally, this position requires logical project planning and timely implementation of assigned projects. It mandates status updates to end users and management along the life of the project, dates and deadlines. Responsible for daily help desk tickets, which may consume a lot of time.
Preferred skills include, but are not limited to:
Experience in an Information Systems environment
Experience with Windows Server Administration, including Active Directory
Expert knowledge of Windows desktop systems including Windows XP/7/10
Configuring of Cisco switches and good knowledge of internet protocols, switching and routing
Knowledge of Office 365, cloud and desktop
General computer hardware knowledge and troubleshooting required. Ability to build bare systems, as well as from images.
Knowledge of VOIP and ShoreTel phone systems a plus
VMWare: knowledge of ESX servers, configuration, troubleshooting and deployment
Cell phone knowledge, setup and configuration
***Broadcast TV knowledge/experience a plus. Will train the right qualified individual.

Finally, this is a 24/7 facility so nights, weekends, and holiday shifts are required. The candidate must be available for “On call” for emergencies and work cooperatively with staff engineers/technicians and other department heads. Candidates should be able to lift 40-80 lbs. and be able to perform other physical tasks related to equipment/infrastructure installation. Pre-employment drug screen required.
