Local Sales Manager
WWSB ABC7, the ABC affiliate located in beautiful Sarasota, FL is seeking a multi media Local Sales Manager to take our local team to new heights. We are looking for a leader with a strong new business, digital, and OTT background that is looking to grow the next generation of leaders for Raycom.
The successful candidate will be able to coach, teach, and mentor our local team to achieve local TV, digital, and OTT budgets. The LSM must be great at all aspects of the role, from interacting with clients and salespeople, to forecasting and inventory management. The LSM will recruit and develop an aggressive and client focused sales team. This individual will also develop and cultivate relationships and partnerships with businesses within the Suncoast community. Must possess a strong knowledge of digital, social media, and web advertising to enhance station’s digital and OTT sales. The LSM will work hand in hand with our digital sales manager on these efforts.
The Local Sales Manager must foster an attitude of exceptional customer service and provide motivation, leadership, and fresh ideas to the senior management team. He or she must be able to develop highly creative & innovative advertising campaigns and solutions for clients. It requires an optimistic and can do attitude as well as strong organizational, communication, and computer-related skills.
The LSM reports to the Director of Sales and is a key member of the senior sales management team. The Local Sales Manager must work well with and become a cohesive part of the management team, and will help set the strategy for the sales department along with senior management.

-Develop creative and effective customer focused solutions using all media platforms
-Complete business activity reports and forecasts
-Aid in the building of client relationships, which may include networking outside normal business hours.
-Develop new business for station utilizing and maximizing all station platforms including but not limited to broadcast, digital, and mobile.
-Know station strengths and weaknesses of the competing stations, and other advertising mediums and position station accordingly.
-Guide account executives in setting, meeting, and exceeding individual and team sales goals and ensure that they have the tools, resources, and abilities necessary to meet and exceed those goals.
-Monitor performance of account executives through ongoing evaluation of individual billing and new business development.
-Implement and ensure sales objectives.
-Cultivate, evaluate, and negotiate business with new and existing clients.
-Establish and maintain effective relationships with specific key accounts and agencies in concert with the AE’s, building client satisfaction and accountability through a consultative selling approach
-Ability to set and maintain ethical standards.
3+ years of digital sales experience preferred
3-5 years broadcast sales experience, with television and sales management experience preferred
-Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred
-Documented record of exceeding budgeted revenue goals
-Must have strong time management and organizational skills: candidate must be able to work in a fast paced, high-pressured, evolving environment
-Proficiency with Excel, Powerpoint, Word, WideOrbit sales, WideOrbit traffic and Matrix
-Drive and influence for creation of value to new and non-traditional advertisers, with a proven track record of new business development
-Ability to remain abreast of competitors and industry trends
-Strong work ethic, positive attitude & leadership qualities with the ability to handle multiple tasks & set priorities
-Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills
