Under the supervision of the General Sales Manager, the Local Sales Manager is responsible for adhering to the Sales Department budget. This includes matching (or exceeding) projected revenue budgets, tracking expenditures, and projecting future revenues. In addition, the Local Sales Manager is responsible for overseeing all local advertising accounts and ensuring good client relations. Further, the Local Sales Manager is responsible for attending to personnel issues, such as selecting, training, motivating, scheduling, and disciplining Sales personnel. The ideal candidate will focus on driving new business, creating an environment that fosters results driven selling and face to face calls.
Excellent motivational and teaching skills as well as street level training abilities. This position will be involved in all aspects of the sales operation including overall budget performance, accurate forecasting, inventory management and staff development. Must demonstrate strong organizational skills, expertise in planning and establishing revenue goals and implementing the strategies/tactics to achieve them; must have excellent communication skills, a successful track record in new business development; a positive “can do” attitude; strong work ethic and lead by example. 1-2 years recent television sales management experience preferred (local and national combined) as a local or national sales manager
