Duties/Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

ABC7 is searching for a Digital & Broadcast Professional to build a troubleshooter traffic brand on multiple platforms. Connect with our viewers when traffic is busiest, by presenting time-saving traffic reports in newscasts and on the ABC7 digital live desk. This is a unique opportunity, as this teammate is scheduled when traffic is busiest between the hours of 530A-1030A & 345P-615P.

You’ll help grow a digital traffic brand, using website and social tools in real time. Roads are getting busier on Florida’s Suncoast, and locals need an advocate who will help save time and frustration getting around.

- Produce & present clear, confident, and thoughtful traffic reports on live digital and broadcast platforms

- Monitor real-time traffic and deliver traffic workarounds in real-time

- Craft Multiple “Happening Now Traffic reports” for web and push alerts to viewers

- Pre-tape daily traffic and construction-focused vignettes and segments for later newscasts

- Interact with newsmakers, guests, and viewers via phone and email

- Create graphics and lower thirds for stories

- Write copy for web and edit video for playback

Qualifications/Requirements:

- Two years of reporting and producing experience desired.

- Working knowledge of WSI Traffic/Weather Systems

- Demonstrated ability to write web articles and app pushes

- Eagerness to create a brand, by connecting with users on ABC7 Live Desk

- A positive attitude, willingness to learn, and ability to collaborate

- An internship in a commercial newsroom

- A degree or intensive coursework in communications and/or journalism
